‘Easi’ solution for effective wetroom
Achieving a functional, accessible yet stylish wetroom, which encompasses the needs of both has been easy for Northumberland couple Bill and Marjorie Leslie....
ith the progression of Mrs Leslie's multiple sclerosis, the couple decided it was time to adapt their garage extension to create an en-suite bathroom, that would enable her to undertake personal hygiene with minimum or no help, whilst still giving a room which her husband could use too.
Disabled living adaptations provider Easibathe & Easiaccess devised a solution of creating a showering wetroom complete with Closomat Palma 'wash and dry' toilet and washbasin, enabling all ablutions etc to be performed in one room, with space for Mrs Leslie to manoeuvre comfortably in her wheelchair.
To further create an accessible home, doorwidths throughout the house were widened, and a 'lipped' ramp and wheelchair charging point constructed.
Easibathe managing director Nigel Heath elaborated, "The Closomat was a key element of our design when creating the wetroom: it looks stylish, but importantly for Mrs Leslie its integral douche and dry functions means she can use it independently; equally, it can be used as a conventional WC if preferred."
The Closomat Palma is the only toilet of its kind developed specifically for disabled people. Designed and manufactured by Closomat, it is also unique in being WRAS approved, enabling legal connection to the mains water supply. Since Closomat was founded half a century ago, it has supplied over 40,000 Closomats, with installations ranging from individual's homes through public buildings and leisure attractions to a tall ship, some of which are in regular use 30 years after their initial fitting.
Closomat is the first choice for disabled people and their carers, to deliver quality, easy to use toileting solutions that bring greater independence, dignity and hygiene.Mark Sadler Sales Director
