People who suffer from Muscular Dystrophy or similar conditions which affect muscle strength have had Aerolet toilet lifts installed, funded by Council grants.
rs Jean Brand, wife of one of the recipients Derek Brand, of Halesworth, comments, "The Aerolet is an absolute boon, marvellous! It has given my husband his independence back, and saves my arms and back having to help him."
Added Derek Segasby, who has also had an Aerolet installed, "Prior to the lift being installed, I had a number of falls while getting off the toilet. I am now able to use the toilet independent of any assistance, and in safety- it's a very welcome aid to my daily routine!"
Available exclusively through Total Hygiene, Aerolet toilet lifts are fitted over a conventional WC to replicate natural body motion, gently raising and lowering the user to position them accurately over the toilet as required whilst enabling the feet to remain in contact with the floor and maintaining the centre of gravity above the feet for balance. After toileting, the Lift can be raised by degrees to ease access for cleansing.
The Aerolet Lift can be adjusted to individual leg length and degree of body stability, to as low as 39.5cm(15 ½"), yet can accommodate weights up to 125kg (20 stone). The core Tilt and Vertical versions are complimented by models including the Standard (ST) which will fit most bathrooms and higher or hanging toilet bowls, the Small (SM) for smaller bathrooms, the Mobile (MO) which can be moved from one bathroom or WC to another making it ideal for hospitals nursing and care homes and leisure resorts, and the Closomat, specifically designed to work with the Closomat top-selling automatic 'wash and dry' toilet. All are rated to support up to 180kg (28 stone), but a bespoke bariatric version gives a maximum lift capacity of 330kg (51 stone). Whilst powered as standard by conventional 230v electrical supply, the Aerolet range can be supplied with a battery powered option where a suitable power point isn't available.
Closomat is the first choice for disabled people and their carers, to deliver quality, easy to use toileting solutions that bring greater independence, dignity and hygiene.Mark Sadler Sales Director
