“A brilliant idea…”
When there’s only one toilet in the home, how do you deal with adapting it to ensure each member of the household can use it, despite height and mobility differences?
For Frances & Tony Lloyd, the solution was simple yet, in Frances’ opinion, “brilliant”: the addition of one of Closomat’s Aerolet toilet lifters.
A false knee, arthritis, and crumbling discs in her back meant Frances, at just 4ft 10in, was finding it increasingly hard to stand up, even with the support of a grab rail, after using the WC.
As part of a bathroom upgrade in the couple’s home in Penllargaer, South Wales, funded through a Disabled Facilities Grant, an Aerolet Tilt has been fitted over the standard WC.
“I am chuffed with it, it’s a brilliant idea,” says Frances (67). “I just push the button and it lowers me over or raises me up to standing. I was finding it hard to stand up, but this gently supports me so I don’t need my husband to help. He’s almost ten years older than me, and nearly a foot taller, so it’s hard for him to give me that support.”
Closomat’s Aerolet is the only toilet lifter available in a choice of Tilt or Vertical options.
